Emergency Services

Food

UCM provides a designed combination of food items that supply each person in the home 3 meals per day for a 3 day period.  This method of addressing food insecurity and hunger provided 43,884 meals to 4,876 individuals in 2020. (28% of those were age 0-18 and 12% were senior adults over the age of sixty-five.) As part of our emergency food assistance services, UCM participates in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). For more information about TEFAP, please CLICK HERE.

Utilities

Financial assistance for utilities (electricity, water, heating fuels) is provided to aid families in maintaining safe shelter. Utility assistance is paid directly to the utility vendor.  For a list of required documents needed in order to be considered for financial assistance, click HERE

Rent

UCM assists individuals and families in meeting their shelter needs by providing financial assistance for rent to avoid eviction. Rent assistance payments are made directly to the property owner or manager. In order to best meet the needs in our community, UCM works in close cooperation with area agencies providing similar services. Clothing

In order to provide clothing assistance to our neighbors in need, UCM maintains a collaborative relationship with Miracle Hill Ministries. This collaboration allows UCM to provide gift cards to persons in need which are redeemed for clothing at the Miracle Hill Thrift Store in Easley. Clothing donations brought directly to UCM are critical to maintaining this cooperative ministry.
