In the name of Jesus Christ, United Christian Ministries (UCM) exists as an extension of the local church community; working together to help people meet their basic needs by offering direct services, education, and advocacy.

United Christian Ministries...

...was formed in 1989 by a group of area church leaders realizing the need for a cooperative ministry to meet the basic needs of persons in crisis in Pickens County and the area of northern Anderson County known as Powdersville. The founders recognized the value of combining their resources and developing a system of record keeping and accountability to best address genuine needs of their neighbors.

UCM opened its doors... persons in need in July 1989 with approximately forty-eight supporting churches. Presently, over 80 area churches provide resources through faithful financial gifts, donations of food and clothing, and sending wonderful volunteers who are truly the hearts and hands of UCM services.

In late 2001...

...UCM joined with Samaritan Health Clinic (SHC) to form the collaborative known as Good Samaritan Alliance. January 2003 marked a significant milestone for UCM as we moved to our present home which is the Good Samaritan Alliance building shared by both UCM and SHC.
